Unexpected Help

Written by Rudy on February 22, 2012 - 10:15 am -

The Rudy Report is proud to announce that we will be raffling off two exclusive VIP tickets to the next Whitney Houston concert, today on "National Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day." The Rudy Report likes animals, with the exception of birds (disgusting, gross birds). Some animals don't do much. But then again, there are some that help you out, even when you least expect it...

It looks like New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera will end his career after this season. In the UEFA Champions League, Chelsea had a rough loss against Italian club Napoli, while Real Madrid had a 1-1 draw against Moscow. According to a new study, hockey star Joe Sakic was the best paid athlete in the history of sports, even ahead of Michael Jordan (they used some formula that nobody understands). And, in the NHL, the Rangers lost against Pittsburgh, and the Islanders lost against Buffalo.

The Rudy Report says Happy Birthday to Rajon Rondo, Michael Chang, Pat LaFontaine, Julius Erving, and Austrian racing legend Niki "No Ears" Lauda. On this day in 1959, Lee Petty won the first Daytona 500 race. Have a great day, there is no new Dear Rudy at the moment, but learn something about the brain that you did not know for sure in the Random Fact section!

Anyways, if you are a leader, you have to do things differently. Here's one example how you can start...

An Exclusive Look

The Rudy Report would like to point out that if women wanted to have complete equal rights, they should also be running, fighting, and competing with men in sports, like in the Olympics, but before we upset 70% of the readership too much, let's move on, today on "National My Way Day." It's cold and summer is still a few months away. So what do you do if you don't want to spend money to go on vacation? Well, that's easy! You bring the beach to your house...

In the Europa League, lots of teams played, but it is worth noting that Manchester United beat Amsterdam on the road 2-0. The Miami Heat are interested in signing German center Chris Kaman. On this day in 1933, the Blaine Act ended prohibition in the United States. Cheers to that! A new survey has found that telling people you are a Rudy Report reader makes you look better by 20% and increases your chances of getting a positive reaction from your counterpart by 16.7%, which is good to know, today on "National Button Day." Anyways, every company is trying to stand out with its advertisements. The Rudy Report never does it. We simply don't have to. Audi has to, but does it well...

The Oakland Athletics have been linked with Manny Ramirez, which could mean a continuation of their spending spree. In the UEFA Champions League, AC Milan crushed Arsenal London 4-0 in a one-sided game. It looks bleak for English teams in the competition. And, in the NBA, the Knicks won for a seventh straight time by beating Sacramento.

The Rudy Report says Happy Birthday to Tuomo Ruutu, Valentino Rossi, John McEnroe, Cathy Freeman, Jerome Bettis, and Canadian hockey legend "Machine Gun" Lanny McDonald. On this day in 2005, the National Hockey League canceled the entire 2004-05 season and playoffs, becoming the first major sports league in North America to do so after a labor dispute.
