Brand Name

Written by Rudy on November 15, 2011 - 7:59 am -

A new survey has found that 108% (margin of error of 5%) of readers prefer reading the Rudy Report over traveling to France, which really shouldn't even surprise the French, today on "National Give Someone a Dollar Day." As you know, the Rudy Report has become a household name. Other brands have accomplished the same in their respective fields. But sometimes, a household name can also become an actual name...

Randy Moss may still be an option at wide receiver for the New England Patriots. The NBA Players' Association has rejected a new offer from the owners in a move that will most likely lead to the cancellation of the entire season. And, on Monday Night Football, the Green Bay Packers crushed the Minnesota Vikings.

The Rudy Report says Happy Birthday to Lofa Tatupu (Samoan for "Lou Tattoo"), Lorena Ochoa, DJ Fitzpatrick, and Cameroonian soccer legend Patrick Mboma. On this day in 1969, Dave Thomas opened the first Wendy's restaurant in Columbus, Ohio. Have a great day, there is no new Dear Rudy at the moment, but learn something very interesting about the Chinese President in the Random Fact section!

Unfair Competition

Written by Rudy on November 14, 2011 - 11:10 am -

The Rudy Report makes its return from the Fall Break with renewed (not renewable) energy and lots of stuff to talk about, today on "National Go To an Art Museum Day." As you know, the Rudy Report is so much better than all the other reports. We are crushing the competition every single day. You think it's unfair? Well, deal with it. Life isn't always fair...

This is not really news anymore, but one more quick comment about Penn State: Joe Paterno should have retired 20 years ago from his coaching job at a school that is only known for football. Why do some people not know when to stop? Would have saved him lots of trouble. Anyways... In the NFL, the Giants lost against the 49ers. The Jets took on the Patriots, but Rudy had more important things to do than watching this game. And, in the NHL, the Rangers continued their successful start to the season. Want more details? I didn't think so.

The Rudy Report says Happy Birthday to Curt Schilling, Bernard Hinault, Jimmy Piersall, and American football talent Lawyer Milloy (You think his mom wanted him to be a football player?!?). On this day in 1922, the BBC began radio service in the United Kingdom. Have a great week, there is the most recent Dear Rudy about the European Bailout Fund, and learn something about body heat in the Random Fact section!

What If

Written by Rudy on October 28, 2011 - 8:54 am -

This is the last Rudy Report before the Fall Break, but we will be back soon, on November 14th, with everything the same, because you simply can't improve what's perfect already (come on, all modesty aside, you know it's true), like today on "National Chocolate Awareness Day." Do you sometimes ask yourself a "What if" question? Rudy doesn't. But a lot of people do. Some questions seem to be pretty legit and history would not be the same...

Mets player Carlos Beltran may play for the New York Yankees next season, possibly replacing Nick Swisher. Meanwhile, Albert Pujols will most likely stay with the Cardinals. And, in World Series Game 6, the Texas Rangers looked like champions twice close to the end, but the Cardinals came back every time, winning the game with a walk-off home run in the 11th inning. It was an incredible, Rudy-approved game. The winner will be decided Friday night.

The Rudy Report says Happy Birthday to Steve Atwater, Lenny Wilkens, Bernie Ecclestone, and Vietnamese-born American poker legend Scotty Nguyen. On this day in 1886, President Grover Cleveland dedicated the Statue of Liberty. Have a great two-week break, check out the new Dear Rudy about Europe and the EFSF, and learn something about pizza (mmmmm pizza...) in the Random Fact section!

Clear Vision - Arsenal London majority owner Stan Kroenke is telling the board about his vision for the club, emphasizing that the model will remain self-sustainable. Read here.

Road Blocks - The sale of the Atlanta Hawks to a pizza franchiser is in jeopardy as the league seeks reassurances about the prospective owner's finances. Read here.

Everybody Loves Christmas

Written by Rudy on October 27, 2011 - 9:59 am -

The Rudy Report must warn you, because after tomorrow, the Rudy Report will be taking a two-week break, while traveling through the world to find the best news, facts, and quotes, but not yet, today on "National Make a Difference Day." Everybody loves the Rudy Report, without any exceptions. And, most people also love Christmas. It's the best time of the year! Really everybody gets into it...

CC Sabathia might be on his way to the Boston Red Sox to replace an injured John Lackey. No team seems to be interested in signing wide receiver Terrell Owens at the moment. And, World Series Game 6 got postponed due to rain in St. Louis. This may be an advantage for the Cardinals.

The Rudy Report says Happy Birthday to Andrew Bynum, Brad Radke, Rick Carlisle, and Slovak ice hockey coaching legend Július Šupler. On this day in 1682, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was founded. Have a great day, check out a very timely and important Dear Rudy about the EFSF (European Financial Stability Facility), and find out something interesting about New York City in the Random Fact section!

Playing With Fire

Written by Rudy on October 26, 2011 - 2:26 am -

The Rudy Report is proud to announce that googling "Rudy Report" will yield about 50% more search results than "Mets", which really is no surprise at all, today on "National Sleep-In Day." No risk, no fun. That's the motto of the Rudy Report, and we live by it every day, saying what we want. However, in other professions, there are some bad-ass risk-takers as well...

The Boston Red Sox may be targeting Toronto coach John Farrell to fill their coaching void. There were no games in the World Series last night. And, in the NHL, the New York Islanders lost against the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-0.
